Morning: Psalm 63, 98; Isaiah 47:1-15; Hebrews 10:19-31
Evening:
Psalm103; John 5:2-18
While the
people of Israel were still in exile there, Isaiah foretold Babylon’s
fall. Today ‘Babylon’ is a metaphor for the falsehood and evil
God hates. All that is not in tune with God will finally fail. So
Hebrews encourages us “to provoke one another to love … not
neglecting to meet together … encouraging one another.” As Jesus
heals people, he brings them from isolation into community. We too
must not neglect community. Here we encourage one another in an often
troubling world.
