Evening: Psalms 73; John 6:41-51
The
prophet is clear – God does not tolerate injustice, but sweeps it
away. Similarly, God does not tolerate “deeds of the flesh.” St. Paul
doesn’t mean sex. By “deeds of the flesh” he means devotion to things of
passing value. Whereas, the Spirit helps us live for what really
matters. Jesus says that whoever eats the bread he gives will live
forever. That is, when the Spirit leads your life, what you’re living
for will never be swept away.
