Evening: Psalm 119:25-48; Matthew 12:1-14
In
workplaces, law courts, and our personal lives, there are countless
questions the ‘Policies and Procedures Manual’ doesn’t answer. All kinds
of situations go beyond what the rules anticipate. Life is just too
complicated to be summed up easily. So when the Laws appear stupid, it’s
good to be reminded that they are there only to serve the community’s
well-being. We also seem to have an in-built moral compass – some call
it the Spirit – to help us find our path. The trick is to listen and to
watch for where the Spirit points, and then to go that way.
